My Bodywork Philosophy

We all deserve to experience joy and freedom in our bodies.

Working Together

My goal is to work with clients who would like to participate in their process of healing, wellbeing, and reducing symptoms associated with pain or stress be it physical or mental. Each session aims to meet clients’ specific needs each visit, whether it be stress relief, pain management, injury prevention and recovery, or the desire for more body awareness and comfort. I aim to tap into the rhythm and energy of what your body seeks. Sessions are fluid. I look forward to building a continual therapeutic relationship with my clients.

AlI bodies are welcome and deserve therapeutic touch. Attentive and grounding bodywork can assist us into our bodies if we have a tendency to be disconnected, untrusting, or averse to touch or our own bodies. I encourage clients to remain curious about the sensations in their bodies during the session, which can make awareness easier during daily life.

While massage may (and should) feel luxurious, it is important to me that we as a society move beyond the notion that it is extravagant. Bodywork provides the opportunity to experience comfort, ease, and hopefully joy in our bodies.

Background

I graduated from the fabulous Asheville School of Massage and Yoga in March 2016 and have continued my education in cranial sacral therapy and additional therapeutic pain relief techniques. My foundational experience comes from a Swedish massage training at the Harbin School of Healing Arts in Northern California in 2014. Informally, I’ve been giving and receiving bodywork my whole life- gravitating towards shoulders-in-need ever since I was young.

I am trained in advanced cranial sacral therapy through intensive courses with my teacher, Phyllis Velez at the Asheville School of Massage and Yoga in 2016 -17. Practicing since 1993, Phyllis first trained at the Upledger Institute and now teaches her own holistic approach. One of my recent trainings in CST for babies and infants was with Lori Hendrickson.

In 2018, I began studying Watsu, a gentle and profound form of aquatic bodywork.  Feel free to inquire more about this although at this time I am not practicing. If you know of any warm (body temp) indoor pools in western MA or southern VT, I’d love to know!

I am licensed and insured in MA (13883). I reside in the hills of western Massachusetts.
